This series, as with most of my other works, focuses on atemporality, lacking a specific time and instead becoming a cohesive blend of different styles and moments. I've primarily drawn on the styles of symbolist artists Eugène Carrière and Léon Spilliaert in addition to the defocused images of contemporary photographers Bill Jacobson and Jone Reed, taking the softness of early pictorialist photographers and altering it to suit a more deconstructed vision. Here, the physical dissolves into fragments of light and shadow, mere ghosts of their former selves.
