Belly, Eye, and Heart Full of Comfort

We hunger for countless pleasures in life: food, adventure, color, reprieve from the weariness of our tired and worn days. One rarely thinks of consistency as a pleasure, yet as the years fly past it only accrues value. Among monolithic clouds and endless skies nestled in desert and pueblo lies a land of immense beauty. New Mexico has been a home to my family, a place where everything was the same time and time again. If you can, find a place that will bring you comfort through the ages. Don't settle for less, find somewhere to satiate every part of your being.
Spiced food, vibrant music, and colored birds both feathered and ceramic, they fill the body and warm the spirit. As the family ages we will once again begin our journey, to find a new constant. There will be no place in Las Cruces for us to return to, but perhaps it is time for a change of scene. We will head north, to Oregon, back to the town cradled among mountains and forests and bathed in the rains from the West. This place will withstand the test of time, even though we will not. People come and go, and although we shall recall the joyous times and pleasures we have had, these stones and sand will remember them far longer. When all is dust and buildings are torn down and reshaped they will remember. The world never forgets.

Open your mind, be brave, and be kind.
